2015 and beyond...

It's safe to say 2014 was a busy year. Sadly, not always for positive, happy reasons.
The Lakeman family had alot to deal with and the journey onward is one without the knowledge, advice and love of the well respected man that was my Father. He is missed daily by us all and I'm sure he is keeping a watchful eye on all family goings on.
When his care became to specialised for my dear Mother he was cared for by the superb real life angels at Rowcroft Hospice in his last few weeks. A place, and charity, that is somewhere we as a family hold in our hearts with a great level of respect and fondness.
I have been very fortunate to have had several opportunities to help them out with various photo shoots and charity events in the past few months. One in particular has become an annual event here in Torbay - The Colour Rush. It is a fun run with a difference. The chance to participate in the South Wests biggest, most colourful, 5K on the beaches of Torbay fills the runners spaces up very quickly. It's obvious why...

The Colour Rush 2014.
Over the last few Colour Rush events I have volunteered and photographed the runners as they have become more covered in powder paint as they progress in through their run on the beach. It truly is a spectacle and the mood is electric throughout.
Recently I have been able to offer photographic services to Rowcroft in their projects to promote legacy donations and a cake bake project which will no doubt raise vital funds to keep the Hospice offering the essential care it provides.

If you have the opportunity to help Rowcroft, or any charity of your choice, the feel good factor lifts you. It is also greatly appreciated when you see your own photos and imagery used to promote their charity campaigns. It's warming from within.
I would strongly recommend any photographers to offer their skills to a charity. Not only will they thoroughly appreciate your area of expertise, you will come away feeling very proud and have an insight into how these organisations are so mindfully run.
