Dartmoor has many fantastic locations where the spring blues carpet large areas with all manner of potential compositions. I have shot them over the last five years, with varying success due to the harsh winters, and this year I will again be searching out the usual favourites together with some new locations.
If you are interested in an informal spring workshop with compositional pointers and locational enlightening then ponder over the weekends of the end of May and early June in your diary and let me know. Some experience of shooting the moor would be useful but not essential as this is not aimed at total beginners, neither is it meant for the pro`s. I like to offer an informal approach where ideas are shared and all technical advice is simplified and easily absorbed. Depending upon interest transport can be provided as I can ferry up to three togs with kit in my own vehicle. Any more and we can form a convoy.... CB radios not required!
The cost is reflected in my intention to keep this on a more friendly level. If its only a day that you can free up then the cost will be £50 pp, if you fancy shooting over the whole weekend, both Sat and Sun, then £75. This will include local pick up (within reason!) or meeting up and collection from an arranged moorland carpark, transport to and from the moor. How this differs from the usual workshop is in the timing.
Obviously most moorland bluebell locations are not sunrise or sunset hotspots, so early starts and late finishes are not required. However shooting for most of the day in good light can clock up the hours. Lunch and refreshment stops can be incorporated into the day.
The usual workshop health and safety, together with the camera requirements can be viewd on my workshops page www.marklakeman.weebly.com/workshops-day-trips-and-time-out.html
If the interest is justified we can formulate a plan.
